We are proud to announce the election of Lena Balk as the new ARPCT President. We thank Dot Kret for her leadership and work to advance the work of ARPCT and organizations helping individuals throughout our communities.
Since 1995, Lena Balk has worked with individuals with barriers to employment including people with disabilities. She first began working in the non-profit sector with persons with disabilities and sex-offender backgrounds in both community and residential programs.
In 1997 Lena began her position with RESOURCE as an Employment Specialist establishing employer partnerships for program participants with disabilities and securing employment. Since then she has become the Director of Career Education and Assessment Services where she oversees 9 Career Skills Training Programs, grant funded projects and Assessment Services centered on career exploration and planning.
Lena has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Welfare from the University of Minnesota at Mankato. She also received in 2007 the Member of the Year Award from the Association of Rehabilitation Programs in Computer Technology.
