Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas 5111 East 21st St. Website: www.cprf.org Contact: Mary Carter, Program Director The Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas, Inc., School of Adaptive Computer Training is devoted to directly addressing the need to improve marketable job skills and independent living opportunities for people with disabilities and others affected by the "digital divide." This is accomplished through a completely adaptive classroom that uses state-of-the-art, adjustable workstations and assistive software and devices to assist people with disabilities to gain the skills needed to compete in today's highly competitive job market. In addition to the school's Microsoft-approved curriculum and accredited courses, students are able to obtain local- and national-level technical certifications, participate in the school's mentor program and receive job placement assistance. A Business Advisory Council, comprised of area business representatives, has been established to meet a number of quality control and mentoring duties. Some of those duties include ensuring the courses meet or exceed the requirements of hiring authorities, evaluating student preparedness, conducting mock interviews, providing recommendation letters, assisting with placement activities and serving as mentors. The advisory council continues to work to ensure the school's curriculum is market-driven. CPRF School of Adaptive Computer Training now operates in Wichita, Kansas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Houston, Texas. Membership Type: Member Program |
